London Churches Page 7
St Paul, Shadwell, 302 The Highway, London E1W 3DH, UK. A strange thing happened when I came to photograph this Church. I contacted the Vicar and asked to photo the inside of the Church, she was reluctant to let me at first, as the Church was about to be decorated, but relented when I said I would appeal for funds for the Church on her behalf. Never the less, none of the photos I took inside the Church came out, but all the photos of the outside did. On the same role of film I took photos of St. Mary's Cable Street, and again shots taken outside were fine, but none of the interior shots came out! Anyway if you would like to help towards the upkeep of this Church then please send donations to the above address.
Surrounded by huge trees, it almost seems that the Church of Sea Captains is trying to hide from the hideous developments around it!
Beautifully proportioned steeple, can anyone tell me, what's the difference between a steeple and a spire?
